Anchor Food Professionals launch travel cakes for holiday season

In December 2016, Anchor Food Professionals team launched a range of special edition Anchor Travel Cakes with 15 chain bakery partners across Malaysia to mark the festive season. Inspired by France’s “gâteaux de voyage” which are traditionally brought by travellers and shared at the end of a journey, the cakes were specially created by our Anchor Food Professionals Pastry Chefs using premium Anchor Tinned Butter.

Linda Tan, Anchor Food Professionals Director (Malaysia-Brunei) says the campaign started with customers looking to launch a new product during the festive season, and this coincided with our campaign to boost bakery channel as an alternative source of gifting. “A complete business solutions was created, starting with the travel cake concept first shared by Chef Jean Francois Arnaud, right up to chefs demo, promotional collaterals and a communication campaign to help market the end product” she said.
Three variants to the Anchor Travel Cake were created, namely the decadent Chocolate Prune Travel Cake – a mixture of pitted prune, apricots and dark chocolate chunks encased in a moist chocolate butter cake, the Earl Grey Apricot Travel Cake – with earl grey tea infused apricot in a fragrant earl grey tea butter cake, and the Orange Cranberry Travel Cake – featuring plump cranberries soaked in orange juice, in a buttery orange scented cake.
