Affogato is an Italian espresso based dessert, but we have used cold brew for a more complex flavour and nutty finish.  


How To:

To enhance the nutty flavour we used Barker’s Professional Hazelnut Syrup, Kapiti Gingernut Ice Cream and Cascara (the dried skins of coffee fruit, which has been brewed like a tea).

  1. Scoop Kapiti Gingernut ice cream.
  2. Combine cold brew coffee with Barker’s Professional Hazelnut Syrup and pour over ice cream.
  3. Serve with cold cascara reduction.
