Mama mia that’s a Spicy a-Meatball... Pizza. More Italian than Mario or Luigi, meat balls covered in a spicy pizza sauce, onions, olives, capsicum and pesto will get your taste buds fired up. But have no fear, it has been topped with fresh basil and crumbled creamy feta to help you avoid crashing and burning your way to the bar for a refreshing beverage. Buon Appetito!
More Italian than Mario or Luigi, meatballs covered in a spicy pizza sauce, onions, olives, capsicum and pesto.
- 1 large pizza dough
- 1 ladle Napoli or pizza sauce
- 138g Anchor Extra Stretch mozzarella
- 80g pork & beef meatballs
- 30g sliced black olives
- 50g diced red & green capsicum 30g sliced red onion
- 1 tbsp capers
- 2 tbsp basil pesto
- 2 tbsp creamy feta (crumbled)
Evenly spread Napoli or Pizza sauce onto the base, working from the outside in. Evenly spread cheese over the tomato base and other ingredients (except pesto & feta).
Bake in the oven @ 250°C for 6 mins.
Slice pizza and finish with pesto & crumbled feta.
Pork & Beef Spicy Meatballs
- 250g lean beef mince 250g fatty pork mince 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red chilli, diced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix all together and roll into meatballs, pan fry until medium & rest ready for service.
