For Chef Christopher Hartford, ingredients are at the heart of any food business. Over the course of his career, he has spent 9 years with speciality retailer Sid Wainer & Son, where he sold high-end ingredients to leading hotels and restaurants on Boston’s North Shore. His taste for quality produce then took him to Verde Farms, where he led national sales and R&D for this startup selling premium grass-fed beef.

During his time in the food business, Christopher has developed an in-depth knowledge of the culinary scene in the North East of the United States. He studied Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, and built his career in hotels and country clubs in the region.

He has extensive experience of large scale foodservice, spending time as a banquet chef at the Sheraton on Boston’s North Shore, and moving on to private country clubs in Essex and Wentworth by the Sea, where he was executive chef. As well as time in a fine dining kitchen at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA, Christopher was instrumental in opening the Bourbon Street restaurant in New Hope, PA, where he set up and led operations in the kitchen.
