Raised in a culinary family in Italy, Chef Luigi Betti brings three generations of foodservice knowledge to his role at Anchor Food Professionals.


Foodservice is in the blood for Chef Luigi Betti. Born in the mountain village of Marradi, Italy, Chef Luigi was raised in a culinary family, with grandparents that ran a successful bar and delicatessen, and a dedicated pasta fridge in the family home.

He got his start in the kitchen of his local pizzeria at age 13 and has worked in the industry ever since, spending time in Italy, France and the United States. What was initially planned as a three month trip to New York turned into 18 years honing his skills in leading Italian restaurants on both coasts, including time as Executive Chef at Tra di Noi in Malibu.

From here, Chef Luigi moved into a consultancy role as Corporate Chef for Sysco, providing menu analysis, recipe development and consultancy to help customers lower food costs, increase efficiency and improve outcomes for their business.

Now based in LA, Chef Luigi is the Business Development Regional Chef for Anchor Food Professionals. Combining sales and culinary roles, Chef Luigi works with chefs to understand and improve their business. His extensive experience allows him to develop menu items that respect the flavours and traditions of his customers, whilst improving efficiency and adding value in the kitchen.

With experience that spans French, Spanish and Asian cuisines, Italian food remains a passion for Chef Luigi, who developed the recipes that were crowned the best Lasagne and Tiramisu in LA!
