The New Zealand Grass-Fed Standard

Anchor Food Professionals offers products which carry the New Zealand Grass-Fed Pasture-Raised FernMark - a mark of New Zealand authenticity that assures products are made with New Zealand grass-fed milk.

Grass-Fed Goodness

To carry this icon, the milk used in our Anchor Food Professionals products must meet the following requirements from the New Zealand Dairy Grass-Fed Administrative Standard.

  • Cows must have a diet which constitutes, on a 3-year rolling average, at least 90% (freshweight) qualifying grass-fed feed types.
  • Cows must on average graze pasture or forage crops at least 340-days per year for at least 8-hours per day.

It is a distinctive mark of New Zealand authenticity - to see the range of Anchor Food Professionals products which are recognised as being made with New Zealand grass-fed milk visit NZ Story.

We are proud that the milk from Fonterra New Zealand cows exceeds these standards.

*Fonterra New Zealand cows spend on average 350 days grazing on pasture and have a diet which is 96% grass, calculated on an ‘as consumed’ basis and averaged over the previous three seasons data.
